The Joker

Lucy in the Sky

Oscar winner Natalie Portman’s latest screen outing is Lucy in the Sky, a flick about an astronaut who has a life-changing experience during a lengthy mission in outer space. When she is finally Earth-bound again, she begins to lose touch with reality, at the sacrifice of her career and family. The cast also includes Jon Hamm, Zazie Beetz, Dan Stevens and Ellen Burstyn.
The Addams Family

Here is one for the whole family, an animated version of the classic Charles Addams cartoon The Addams Family. With voices such as Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac, Bette Midler, Finn Wolfhard, Chloë Grace Moretz, Nick Kroll and Snoop Dogg bringing to life the macabre but lovable family, this will be creepy and kooky fun for Halloween. Watch as the ghoulish Addams face-off with an unlikely nemesis, an internet personality who is trying to create the perfect community and will stop at nothing to drive the clan out of town.
Gemini Man

Have you ever been stalked by yourself? The new action thriller Gemini Man starring Will Smith proposes a scenario where a hit man is the target of his own clone, an assassin employed by the government. With relentlessly action-packed sequences, and twists and turns to keep you guessing, Gemini Man will keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end. The film also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Clive Owen.
Jexi
Release Date: Oct. 11, 2019
Much like the also mentioned Countdown, Jexi tackles the problem of technology ruling our lives. In this case, the voice that emanates from a young man’s cell phone develops an unhealthy obsession with its owner. The awkward Phil finds himself at “Lexi’s” mercy, an allegory for how we’ve all become too dependent on our phones. Soon, Jexi evolves from being his life coach and friend into his personal, abusive nightmare. The film stars Adam DeVine, Alexandra Shipp and Rose Byrne.
The King
Release Date: The King began a limited theatrical release on Oct. 11, 2019.
Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) returns to the big screen as Hal, a young prince who is ultimately crowned King Henry V, inheriting a kingdom embroiled in war. Cobbled together from a series of plays by William Shakespeare, The King is full of political intrigue, power hungry backstabbing, and some of the most compelling moments in royal history. Joining Chalamet are Joel Edgerton, Robert Pattinson and Lily-Rose Depp.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
Release Date: Jay and Silent Bob Reboot will have two showings, via Fathom Events, at select theaters this month: one on Oct. 15, 2019, and the other on Oct. 17, 2019.
Those goofy geeks of the comic book and sci-fi world are back after a long hiatus. Jay and Silent Bob are once again poised to make you roll your eyes while laughing hysterically at their antics. For Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, join them as they journey to Hollywood to prevent their classic comedy franchise from getting a reboot. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith reprise their iconic roles, and are joined by franchise favorites Jason Lee, Brian O’Halloran, Shannon Elizabeth, and Joey Lauren Adams in supporting roles. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

She’s back! The misunderstood villain of Disney’s animated film Sleeping Beauty, who was given a live-action treatment in 2014, has earned a sequel. Angelina Jolie returns as the horned fairy who is at odds with the beautiful Princess Aurora. As Aurora’s impending marriage to Prince Phillip nears, an all-out war breaks up between the fairy folk and the humans. Will Maleficent finally triumph? Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Fanning, Imelda Staunton and Harris Dickinson round out the leading cast.
Zombieland: Double Tap
Release Date: Oct. 18, 2019
We just cannot seem to get enough of our zombies, and just in time for Halloween comes Zombieland: Double Tap. A sequel to the comedic 2009 film about the undead, this one will have you jumping and laughing at the same time. Returning for this installment are stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin as the team of zombie hunters who find themselves facing a horde of newly evolved creatures requiring disposal. The cast also includes Zoey Deutch, Luke Wilson and Rosario Dawson.
Countdown
Release Date: Oct. 25, 2019
What if computers could predict your future? A film that imagines a whole new level of technology, Countdown follows Quinn, a nurse who downloads an app that predicts, with surprising accuracy, when people will die. When her own demise is announced, she finds herself in a race against time to save her own life. The film stars Elizabeth Lail.
