Summer fun is heating up in Orlando! The all-new thrill ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is now open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
The awesome addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter features twists and turns, and speedy thrills as visitors fly deep into the wilds of the Forbidden Forest, beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle.
To celebrate the grand opening, here are six exciting things you can’t miss on the new attraction:
Fly into the Forbidden Forest
And flying you will go because this ride zooms! The longest roller coaster in Florida, measuring nearly a mile in length, hits speeds up to 50 mph. It’s also only the second coaster in the nation to feature a vertical drop – a 17-foot free fall.
Thrills
In between the magical creatures and flying motorbikes, the new ride features a record-setting seven launches. Riders are catapulted 65 feet in the air at more than a 70 degree angle and immediately dropped backwards in motion.
Adventure
As you twist past towering trees, magical creatures and wondrous surprises surround you. With Hagrid as your guide, you fly far into the dark forest. Hurl past impossible obstacles and dodge fierce beasts on a freewheeling coaster flight that will bring you close to some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.
Motorbike
Guests may choose to sit on Hagrid’s motorcycle, or in the adjacent sidecar, which moves at speeds of up to 50mph. You’ll be ready for a second trip around because the experience is different depending on where you sit. Fans of J.K. Rowling’s popular book and film series will know that the motorbike originally belonged to Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black.
Story Coaster
The fun starts even before you jump on a motorbike with Hagrid. The Motorbike Adventure is known as a ‘story coaster,’ where the show starts when you step into line. You’ll see a pre-show that begins at the edge of the forest, featuring characters Arthur Weasley, Hagrid, and Hagrid’s dog. Then you hop on the motorbike for more adventure.
App
As you can imagine, the ride is already a massive hit and visitors are lining up for the adventure. To better ensure your place in line try Universal’s Virtual Line system on their official App. You select a time and a number of riders. While waiting for that time, you can explore the park and other attractions.
