Toruk – The First Flight, the exciting Cirque du Soleil show, is touring arenas worldwide and dazzling audiences along the way with its riveting fusion of cutting-edge visuals, high-flying acrobatics, puppetry and stagecraft buoyed by a soaring cinematic score.
An impressive mix of acrobatics and artistry, the multimedia entertainment production is inspired by director James Cameron’s 2009 Oscar-winning fantasy adventure “Avatar,” which envisions a world beyond imagination set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film.
In a show overflowing with amazing visual effects, one cool feature is Cirque du Soleil’s use of BlackTrax technology, a real-time motion system that tracks the video and lighting elements of the show, transforming the stage into a visually striking re-enactment of Avatar’s alien world. As cast members move across the stage, nearly invisible LEDs attached to their costume will transmit their movements to a camera and software.
