The popular Marvel superhero movie Guardians of the Galaxy is going to have its very own attraction at Disney California Adventure Park.
Comic-Con in San Diego was all abuzz Saturday with news that a Guardians of the Galaxy – themed ride is in the works. Set to open summer 2017, the new ride, Mission: BREAKOUT!, will open alongside the release of the sequel to the superhero movie.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ – Mission: BREAKOUT! is taking over the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction at Disney California Adventure Park, enhancing the breathtaking free fall sensation with new visual and audio effects to create a variety of ride experiences.
The attraction will drop guests directly into the story alongside characters from the comic books and the blockbuster films. Guests will experience multiple, random and unique ride profiles in which the rise and fall of the gantry lift rocks to the beat of music inspired by the film’s popular soundtrack.
The new ride is the result of collaboration between the creative minds behind the comic books, the films and Walt Disney Imagineering.
The plan for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ – Mission: BREAKOUT! is to anchor a broader universe of superheroes that will evolve over time in Disney California Adventure Park.
