Entertainment Benefits Group kicked off this year’s U.S. Travel Association’s International Pow Wow (IPW) – held from June 18 to June 22 in New Orleans, Louisiana – in true EBG fashion, by hosting a fabulous Mardi Gras-themed party to celebrate the dedication and commitment of our amazing partners. These longstanding partnerships allow members of EBG’s Corporate Programs Division (including TicketsatWork, Plum Benefits, and Working Advantage) as well as its other network of websites to enjoy an extensive collection of exclusive discounts to the best theme parks, hotels, attractions, shows, events, tours and other entertainment and travel offers, around the country.
EBG used this opportunity to meet and connect with current partners and cultivate new relationships. On Monday, June 20, guests took a break from the world-class trade show to let loose and have a great time at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, where they took in culinary delights, specially crafted cocktails, dazzling jazz music and photo booth fun.
The evening started off in style, thanks to our partners at City Sightseeing New Orleans. Attendees were able to ride a double-decker bus from the Convention Center to The Ritz Carlton, taking in all the surrounding sights and sounds of the vibrant city. But that was just the beginning. The moment guests walked into the intimate French Quarter Bar, the spirit of The Big Easy was more evident than ever. Floor-to-ceiling glass French doors showcased stunning panoramic views of Canal Street. A mix of sweet and sultry melodic harmonies by a live jazz trio – comprised of a clarinet, banjo and sousaphone – served as the soundtrack. And the bold, distinct flavors of New Orleans remained present throughout the evening.
An estimated 300 people flowed in and out, sampling the local cuisine with delectable hors d’oeuvres like creole tomato bruschetta, pecan-crusted chicken and mini lump crab cakes. Mouth-watering smokehouse BBQ selections were also available including smoked BBQ beef brisket, BBQ pulled chicken sliders and Kansas City-style pork ribs. But the real hit was the French fry station and ice cream bar station. At the French fry station, guests were able to enjoy their choice of creamy cheese fries, poutine fries, truffle fries or Sriracha ketchup fries. Those with more of a sweet tooth got to indulge in house-made ice cream flavors such as bourbon praline and French vanilla bean, sandwiched between choices of fresh-baked cookies.
There was no better way to remember the incredible event than with a picture. Squareface Photo Booth provided guests with awesome snap shots for the perfect keepsake to take home. Some posed with colored wigs, while others sparkled with strings of plastic beads. Regardless of what crazy prop they decided to put on, the grandeur and elegance of The Ritz coupled with the high energy of New Orleans created the most exquisite backdrop for the evening. It was a fun-filled celebration to mix and mingle with our business partners outside of meetings and in a fun, casual setting. We are thrilled to be working with such world class partners, and look forward to each and every opportunity to thank our partners for all their support. Cheers to a great IPW 2016, and we’re looking forward to IPW 2017 in Washington DC.
