Cirque du Soleil is bringing its legendary blue-and-yellow Big Top to the west coast with its newest touring show, ‘KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities,’ set to wow audiences at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA beginning Oct. 15.
One of only two stops Cirque du Soleil has scheduled in the Southern California area this year, “Kurios” runs in Costa Mesa until Nov. 29. Afterwards, the aerial circus troupe travels down the road to Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium to begin shows on Dec. 10.
Cirque du Soleil’s 35th production, which premiered in Montreal in April 2014, is set to a toe tapping, 30s-era jazz score, and features a gorgeous set design and artistic costumes.
The essence of “Kurios” is a clever tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible.
The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker’s Cabinet of Curiosities. “Kurios” is an inspired blend of unusual curiosity acts and stunning acrobatic prowess from Cirque du Soleil.
Powered by a top-shelf troupe of artist-athletes, “Kurios” delivers memorable thrills start to finish – jugglers, trapeze artists, tumblers and aerial acts perform in impressively choreographed and fast-paced routines that bring out plenty of ‘wows’ from the audience.

- The wit of “Kurios” arrives in the form of the Invisible Circus. An eccentric ringmaster directs a miniature circus with invisible artists. Ranging from teeterboard to high diving to riding a unicycle on a tightrope, the acts all materialize in our minds by the sheer power of visual and sound effects.
- Above a vast ocean, underwater creatures pirouette, bounce and rebound on a net that covers the entire stage. Their street-style performance is mixed with pure trampoline techniques.
